I love my Cozmo. However, I do not like the app and connect issues. Can not use Cozmo unless in the app, and app can not run in the background, so if on your phone and get a call, Cozmo shuts down. And connecting is so difficult I have come to actually hate it. Cozmo himself, when he runs, he is awesome. Hopefully Vector will be better. Only time will tell.
I absolutely love Cozmo. I got mine a few years ago and I played it any chance I got. A lot of people have been saying that the app doesn't work for Androids, but it's been fine for me. The only thing I have a problem with is that in the code lab, the colors of everything are all messed up. It does make it a bit harder to give the cubes colors. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not. Either way, 5 stars.
Personally, cozmo is great. But the app is the main issue, connecting to cozmo is a pain. Every time I do connect on a different device besides my phone, it doesn't like to connect. No other issues since I've had this thing for years. All I'm saying is that connecting to cozmo is a pain.
Since the app has been rebranded to Digital Dream Labs, you will need to uninstall the old app and install the new version. I was assured in the upgrade email that I would not lose any progress. I lost all my code lab projects I had created. How do I get them back? "As all of your Cozmo's data (known faces, sparks, and game progress) are stored on the robot and not in your smart device, transitioning to the new app should not cause you to lose any progress."
Great little app & robot - my only complaint would be that there isn't enough to do when Cozmo is off. Makes it very unmotivating to play with it at all. I'd rather throw it out than wait for 2 - 3 hours for it to charge. It's also very confusing to use the app at first - not enough instructions on what does what.
the only thing is add would be the ability for the app to run in the back ground so we can do things like take pictures or something and still have cozmo on. otherwise, i dont have a problem with the app.
Worked great for me on my s10+ plus running Android 11. Was able to run Cozmo without issue. Thanks DDL, great job. Note- It would help if the people with problems listed their device and Android version to help the developer out here rather than flame the app. No wonder Anki went out of business with customers that behave like children.
